Where a quotation is expressly issued on CIF terms, the quoted commercial price includes the goods, applicable freight to the named destination port and marine insurance arranged in accordance with the agreed transaction terms.
The agreed price of the material or product together with the costs incorporated into the applicable CIF commercial quotation.
Marine cargo insurance is arranged where required under the agreed CIF shipment terms and applicable transaction documentation.
Freight is arranged to the named destination port identified in the quotation, pro forma invoice or sales agreement.
A CIF quotation is tied to a specific named destination port. Import customs clearance, import duties, taxes, destination-port charges and onward delivery are not automatically included unless expressly stated in the quotation or sales agreement.
Shipping method is selected according to the material, shipment weight and volume, urgency, destination, regulatory requirements and buyer instructions.
Sea freight is generally suitable for larger commercial orders, bulk metals, minerals, ingots, packaged materials and containerized cargo.
Air freight may be used for suitable sample orders, smaller high-value materials and shipments requiring faster international transportation.
Each shipment is coordinated according to the agreed product specification, commercial terms, destination and transportation method.

Estimated shipping and transit periods depend on material availability, quantity, packaging, export preparation, carrier schedules, routing and destination. Any estimated dates provided are commercial estimates rather than guaranteed arrival dates unless expressly agreed otherwise.
Freight rates may change because of carrier pricing, fuel costs, route availability, seasonal demand, cargo characteristics and destination charges. A shipping quotation is therefore subject to its stated validity period.
Unless the written commercial terms expressly provide otherwise, the buyer is responsible for destination-country import clearance, permits, licenses, duties, taxes and other local regulatory requirements.
Delivery may be affected by carrier delays, customs inspections, port congestion, weather, route changes, regulatory actions, strikes, force majeure events or other circumstances outside reasonable operational control.
Buyers are responsible for providing accurate company, consignee, notify-party, address, airport or seaport information. Costs resulting from incorrect buyer-supplied information may be charged to the buyer where applicable.
Packaging is selected according to material type, form, quantity, transportation method and applicable handling requirements. Special packaging should be requested before final quotation and order confirmation.
Buyers should inspect the shipment and external packaging promptly on receipt. Visible transportation damage, shortages or package irregularities should be documented and reported promptly with supporting photographs and transportation records.
Where a quotation, pro forma invoice, sales contract, purchase agreement or other written transaction document specifies different shipping terms, those transaction-specific terms apply to that particular order.
Product origin and shipping location are not necessarily the same. Materials may originate in the Democratic Republic of the Congo while export consolidation, documentation and international shipment are coordinated through Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Applicable commercial and origin documents will identify the relevant information for the individual transaction.
